Where Carrd earns the recommendation
Carrd lists Pro Standard at $19 per year and includes custom-domain publishing and forms. For a consultant who needs an offer, proof, contact route and a few clear sections, that is a persuasive package. We would spend the next hour improving the offer and examples before shopping for a more elaborate builder.
This is a judgment about fit, not a conversion claim. We have not established that a Carrd page sells better or loads faster than an equivalent Framer page. A clear one-page site can still fail if it says nothing specific about the service.
Where the cheap option becomes the awkward option
Carrd lists Pro Plus at $49 per year with custom forms and source download. Do not recommend the $19 tier to someone whose requirement is those advanced capabilities. Framer's pricing page distinguishes CMS, site-page and editor allowances; a team editing content should evaluate those limits rather than only the headline site price.

Our criticism: a low bill can hide a structural mismatch
We would skip Carrd for a publication whose weekly work is creating and maintaining many related articles. Repeating a manual layout can consume more editorial time than the subscription saves. We would also avoid promising a client an easy exit merely because a builder offers a transfer feature: transferring an account project and exporting a maintainable site are different outcomes.
Framer is not our default upgrade for every Carrd owner. Its broader structure is worth paying for only when the site uses it. A freelancer with one stable service page should not buy a CMS as insurance against an imaginary future publication.
The decision we would make this week
Write the next ten updates the site will need. If they are mostly editing a price, swapping a project image or improving the same contact section, Carrd stays on the shortlist. If they are ten new articles with repeated fields, categories and individual URLs, investigate a CMS now. This editorial exercise exposes the recurring work more clearly than a template gallery.
