Decide the three numbers you will look at
If a tool cannot show those three, it is the wrong tool. If it shows fifty more, you will probably still read only those three. Built-in analytics usually covers the first and third; the second may need a form count from your inbox or provider.
- Visits per week to the main page.
- Completions of the main action: form submissions, booking clicks or purchases.
- Where visits came from, so you know which link or post is working.
History length matters more than features
Framer Basic keeps 30 days of analytics history. That is enough to check launch traffic and month-to-month trends if you write the numbers down monthly. It is not enough to compare this December with last December. If you need year-over-year comparisons, either record a monthly snapshot in a spreadsheet or use a third-party tool that keeps longer history. [2]
Cookies and consent
Carrd lists a native cookie-free analytics service alongside third-party tools. Whether a given tool needs a consent banner depends on the tool and on where your visitors are; read the tool's own documentation. A cookie-free option can avoid adding a banner to a one-page site, which keeps the page simpler. This is not legal advice. [1]
What analytics will not tell you
Analytics counts visits; it does not confirm that a form message reached your inbox or that a subscriber reached your list. Keep those checks separate, as in our contact form delivery guide. It also will not explain why a page is missing from Google; that is a crawl and indexing question for Search Console. And numbers from different tools rarely match exactly because each counts sessions and filters bots differently. Pick one tool as the source of truth and compare it only with itself over time.
Which option to pick
Our default for a first site is the builder's own option, because it is one less script, one less login and often one less consent question. Upgrade to a separate tool when a specific question cannot be answered, such as which newsletter issue sent visitors to the booking page.
Worked example: a consultant's Carrd page gets 120 visits a month and 4 contact submissions. The useful number is the 3.3% completion rate, not the visit count. If a change to the headline moves submissions to 6 on similar traffic, that is a signal worth keeping. Built-in analytics plus a count from the inbox is enough to see it.
- Carrd site and you only need visits and sources: Carrd native analytics on Pro Standard, with no extra account to manage.
- You already use Google Analytics for other properties and want everything in one place: add it through the builder's supported option.
- Framer Basic and you need more than 30 days of history: record monthly numbers yourself, or compare the Pro row at $360 a year on yearly billing, which also adds redirects and staging.
- Webflow site: decide whether Analyze, priced by sessions from $9 per month, gives you more than a free third-party tool added with custom code.
Set it up and verify in ten minutes
We have not compared these tools' accuracy. A missing page in Google is a separate problem; see the noindex and robots guide.
- Enable the analytics option in your builder or paste the tool's snippet where the builder documents.
- Publish, then open the live page from a phone on mobile data.
- Confirm your visit appears in the dashboard within the tool's stated delay.
- Exclude your own visits if the tool supports it, or note that early numbers include you.
- Put a monthly reminder to record the three numbers.
